Director of Retail
Coming from a background in the arts, I always envisioned a career that would fuel my need to be creative and fulfill my desire to help the world and those who belong to it. Who knew this would be Green Beauty!I started my review page (@crueltokindbeauty) several months ago as a way for me to share and educate people about the wonders of a clean beauty routine. However, my journey into the realm of Green Beauty began long before that. Growing up in the Garden State, I always remember my mother tending to the healing foods she grew in her own backyard. She always took a holistic approach in treating any and all ailments, soothing my skin with fresh cut aloe vera in the summer and slathering on coconut oil in the dry winter months. Thankful for this, I endeavor to continue the practice and guide our clients toward safe, effective, and non-toxic skin treatments.
What drew me to Lena Rose was their same commitment to high quality non-toxic products. The owner has a vision and dedication to pure ingredients, passionate customer service, and advocacy for female-owned independent businesses. I am thrilled and honored to be a part of this remarkable boutique and spa!
Born and raised in Alaska, I always had a soft spot for natural beauty. Growing up I learned to appreciate all that Mother Nature provides, and continue to take an organic approach to skin care. Having over 5 years of experience as a makeup artist, I decided to go back to school to study Esthetics, to understand how the skin works, and how to take proper care of it. A few years ago I stumbled upon an article about Green Beauty (specifically about oil cleansing) and I was the biggest skeptic. If prescription medication couldn’t help heal my skin, there was no way oils and botanicals could do it. But, I was desperate and pretty hopeless, so my skeptical self bought my first oil tincture and I prayed for the best. Needless to say, I’ve not looked back. While I’m extraordinarily passionate about Clean and Green Beauty, I still have so much to learn. Don’t we all? I’m truly proud to work for a company that allows me the opportunity to admit what I don’t know or understand, provides me the support to expand my knowledge, gives me the room to practice and share what I DO know to my clients, and let’s me have so much fun while doing it.

Jennifer Duranski, Founder + Chief Beauty Officer
A competitive gymnast turned licensed beauty professional, Jenny took the determination she gained from gymnastics and turned it into her passion and advocacy for green beauty.
Growing up in Naperville, a southwest suburb of Chicago, Jenny Duranski is a spa industry veteran with over 15 years experience. She graduated from North Park University with a Bachelor’s in Organizational Leadership and Management and studied abroad at the International Business School in Jonkoping, Sweden. During her 8-month program, she independently travelled to 30 countries, gathering vast knowledge and work experience from many international businesses.
After working as a certified nail technician for four years, Jenny became ill from working with the toxic products. She began to research all-natural, organic and vegan alternatives, plus determine which ingredients were harmful. In 2013, her research led to founding Noktivo, Chicago’s first and only non-toxic nail salon.
Featured in The New York Times, Self Magazine, Entrepreneur, Brides, Crain’s Chicago Business and having spoke at MommyCon regarding “How to shop for natural products for the family,” Jenny has gained vast credibility in the green beauty industry.
A business member and supporter of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, Jenny traveled to Washington D.C. with the organization to lobby in 2016. She shared her personal story with legislators as a professional in the field and discussed why laws need to be written regarding the products beauty industry professionals work with everyday.
In April 2017, Jenny founded her second beauty brainchild, Lena Rose, named after her daughter. It is the first green beauty boutique and green spa in Chicago, focusing on vegan, non-toxic, “farm-to-facial” services and products that are 100% safe for your body.
Jenny is a confessed serial entrepreneur, recovering perfectionist who enjoys gardening, building things and serving her local community. She is a proud board member of Local First Chicago, an organization that promotes independent business. She lives in Chicago with her husband and daughter.
